My husband is diabetic and try various recipes with health food. Today tried ven pongal with brown rice and veggies and beleive me it was yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.try out and njoy.
brown rice 1 cup
Moong dal 1 cup
Jeera and pepper powdered coarsely
Grated ginget 1tsp
kadipatta few lwaves

In a pressure cooker add 7 cups o f water(if you want the pongal loose)If you want a little thick add 6 cups only. Add the rice and dal washed. Take little oil in a wok and add the jeera pepper pound mixture,ginger grated,kadipatta and hing. Now add this to the pongal along with spinach or other vegggies of your choice. Yummy khichadi or pongal ready......You have to give 2 whistles on the cooker for it to be done. I can smell the aroma...try it. A healthy option.
